All About One UI: Samsung Android Skin

Samsung is one of the leading smartphone developers in the world. Samsung does not use stock android. It has its own customized android skins. I hope you have heard about Experience UX and TechWiz. These two are the Samsung customized android skins.

But in 2018, Samsung brought something new called One UI. One UI was basically for larger smartphones that support Android Pie and higher. It was developed to make larger smartphones easy to use. Here in this post, I’ll try to describe One UI. I’ll try to give you a basic idea about what One UI actually is, and there will be some version details too.

What Is One UI

One UI is the latest customized android skins for Samsung smartphones. Samsung had Experience UX and TechWiz before releasing One UI. Those are also the customized android skin for Samsung mobiles. One UI is basically for devices that have an operating system Android Pie and higher than it. The new larger smartphones of Samsung have One UI.

One Ui has made the larger new smartphones of Samsung is easy to use. The first version of One UI was released on 24th December 2018. And it received many positive reviews. At the same time some mixed reviews too. One UI is frequently updating by the developer Samsung. And it has more features after every update.

The latest update of One UI is 3.1. It was just released on 29th January 2021. Within two years, it has received 3 major updates and more than 7 updates. In the following, I’ll be writing about the versions.

Android Skin Of Samsung: One UI

One UI is running on the new smartphones of Samsung successfully. People who used One UI really liked it. Samsung One UI is trying to beat stock android and other Android OS like Oxygen OS, Realme UI, LG UX, etc. And One UI is competing with all other new android skins of many smartphone developers. Currently, One UI is receiving an update named One UI 3.1.

So One UI is receiving updates frequently. Frequently updates keep android skin more secure and updated. That is why One UI is one of the best android skins right now in the world as long as it keeps receiving updates and fixing all the bugs and at the same time adding more features to it.

One UI All Versions

One UI 1.0: The first version of Samsung One UI for the larger smartphones was One UI 1.0. It was released in 2018. One UI 1.0 came with many new features for Samsung users. Those features were dark mode, screenshot editing tool, refined curves, better navigation, and so on.

One UI 1.1: This was a minor update of One UI 1.0. This update came up with a few cameras, fingerprint and facial recognition stability fixes, and performance optimizations. This update was not available for some of the flagship holders for that time.

One UI 1.5: It was another minor update of One UI 1.0. It] was primarily for Galaxy Smart Watches.

One UI 2.0: A major update after being released in 2018 of One UI is UI 2.0. It gives Galaxy users a skinned Digital Wellbeing experience, a more refined UI in some default apps such as Device Care, a minor UI change to the clock position in quick settings, a native screen recorder, the new Android 10 gesture system, and so more.

One UI 2.1: It was a minor update of One UI 2.0 that supports Galaxy devices that support 120 Hz fresh rate, Quick Share, Music Share, additional camera modes, and native support for Live Captions.

One UI 2.5: It was another minor update of 2.0 but having some extraordinary features. One UI 2.5 was liked by many flagship holders of Samsung smartphones.

One UI 3.0: A major update came again. This time it is One UI 3.0. It was released for Galaxy S20 devices on December 2, 2020, based on Android 11. This One UI 3.0 update came with some notable changes, such as a translucent notification panel, new volume controls positioned on the right of the device alongside the physical volume keys, and so on. 

One UI 3.1: This is the latest update of One UI so far. However, this is a minor update for One UI 3. It was firstly released with the Galaxy S21 series on 29th January 2021. And it has already started to roll out to some other devices of Samsung.

One UI is getting a huge update based on user experience. We hope the developer will take this android skin to the next level.
